how to remove packages???

hi, i want to know how to remove package is it from the solaris CD!!! there is no space on my hard disk but there is another spartition so how can i remove them from the first partition and re-install them in the partition 2??? Thanks.

Are you looking to remove a package when booted from CD? If you mount up all of your partitions when booted off of CD (say you mount them on ./a) you can do a pkgrm -R /a pkgname The -R specifies an alternate root.

i want to know how to remove package is it from the solaris CD!!! If it's not required for operation, then you'd use 'pkgrm'. What package are you interested in? there is no space on my hard disk but there is another spartition so how can i remove them from the first partition and re-install them in the partition 2??? Often you cannot. The packages files have to be in particular filesystems. You could potentially move the whole filesystem over, but that's more of a system planning/design thing and doesn't have so much to do with individual packages. -- Darren

thanks for the reply. but i want to know how to join the 2 partitions to be 1 partition so that i can re-install the sol10!!!!!!! and actually i dont know what pakage :P but i want space because the system is so slow!!!!!!!!!!!! any solutions???? thanks.

astroveny, assuming that you do not have any data that you want to save, you could reinstall Solaris and during the installation process you can partition the disk however you want.

but i dont know how to do it so is there any tutorial?? any help?? thanks.
