Java Career Advise
Hi, I'm still studying at High School and I want to become Medical Image Scientist, not IT professional. But I'm really interested in Java programming language and love to develop Open Source Science Applications (Physics and Medical Imaging related). I'm reading Head first Java 2nd Edition Have Effective Java Second Edition Gonna Buy OCA Java SE 7 Programmer I Study Guide (Exam 1Z0-803) (Oracle Press) for Oracle Certified Professional Exam. The thing is I'm all alone. Am I heading the right way ? And could you recommend any Open Source (Community/Application) for Beginners please? So that I could involve in open source software development and learn from others. With regards, Arkar Daniels. P.S Welcome any positive Advise.

So that I could involve in open source software development and learn from others. SourceForge has a lot of opensource projects going on in many fields. The projects are always looking for volunteers. Here is the page listing the Medical Science Apps. http://sourceforge.net/directory/science-engineering/medical/os:windows/freshness:recently-updated/ And this is the main sourceforge page http://sourceforge.net/
