findComponentByAbsoluteId is returning null


Hi Experts,  i am working in jdev 11.1.1.3.0, i am trying to call a javascript from my backing bean, java script is invoking but the problem i am facing with component on the page is returning null.  javascript: <af:resource type="javascript">                 function customHandler(event) {                 alert(1);                     hidePopup();                      var exportCmd = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId("cb1");                     alert(exportCmd);                     var actionEvent = new AdfActionEvent(exportCmd);                     actionEvent.forceFullSubmit();                     actionEvent.noResponseExpected();                     actionEvent.queue();                 }                 function hidePopup(event) {                    var popup = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId("p6");                        alert(popup);                    if (popup.isPopupVisible()) {                       popup.hide();                      }                 }               </af:resource>  here i am getting alert as 1 and null null...  this is on page fragment. can any one tell me how to call components in javascript

Did you set the clientComponent property of the jsf components to true?

Hi,  if the page fragment is added by an ADF region, then you need to add the region ID as a prefix <region id>:<component id>. In general, any naming container is added as a prefix to the component id and must be added in the call to findComponentByAbsoluteId   Frank
