Oracle Application Server - General
Reports not running on Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3)
Hi, I've downloaded Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) from Oracle website and installed on my system in order configure report server and to run JSP web reports. But i'm unable to run web reports using the above version of Application server. While checking the componets included in above version of Application server(10.1.3), I found that it doesn't have "Forms and Reports services" included in it. Could anybody please confirm if its the reason why i'm not able to run the reports. What version of Application server should i download in order to configure and Run Web Reports? I would appreciate your expert advice on this. Thanks Ratheesh
What version of Application server should i download in order to configure and Run Web Reports? 10.1.2.0.2 http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101202.html See also this thread
Hi, If U only want Forms & report server U do'nt need to download all IAS components U can download F&R separately.(10.1.0.2) Regards, Hamdy
Oracle 10.1.3 is a J2EE version. If you want Forms/Reports only then download the standalone version of the product which is version 10.1.2.0.2. I'm am currently using this version because I do not need an infrastructure. If you need an infrastructure then you need to dl the full app server version.
is there any workaround to run reports on AS 10g Rel.3?
No. As mentioned before: You can only run j2ee applications on your 10.1.3 installation.
is there any workaround to run reports on AS 10g Rel.3? As I heard, reports has not been integrated with AS 10g Rel 3. It happened that reports utilized quiet a few oc4j internal apis that were changed in Rel3. If it exists, any workaround to run reports on AS 10gR3 will be a collection of hacks into reports and oc4j code, which is not possible/practical for a customer.
Bottom line is 10.1.2 Reports does not make use of any new features of 10gR3 container including JMX based management. Reports will be taking advantage of all new features of the container and management areas in R11.
