Migrating Oracle 10g forms on Oracle 11g Application server
Hi, We are migrating Oracle forms in 10g application server to Oracle 11g application server. Are there any specific migration instructions?? According to Oracle Upgrade guide, Oracle 10g forms should work just fine on Oracle 11g app server. I am just wondering if someone has experienced differently. I am worried we might have to install Oracle 11g developer suite and open every form in 11g forms developer and save them and then compile them. That doesn't sound right though. Thanks
Is there any Developer Suit Called 11g? I think even to complie forms you would need 20+ GB of download from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/middleware/htdocs/fmw_11_download.html
our 10g forms would not compile or work on 11g app server. we didnt have time to investigate yet but they crashed the forms runtime.
If you try to deploy an Oracle 10 form on the new server you will get this error : FRM-40011 Form was created by an old version of Oracle forms. You have a few options : 1. You can compile the forms on the new server using a script like this: Tested on WebLogic and working, your paths will be different #!/bin/sh export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/fmw/oracle_pfrd export FORMS_PATH=/u01/app/oracle/product/fmw/fr_inst export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$FORMS_PATH/bin export TERM=vt220 export ORACLE_TERM=vt220 export TNS_ADMIN=/u01/app/oracle/product/fmw/oracle_pfrd/network/admin for file in *.fmb do frmcmp_batch.sh module=$file userid=scott/tigersy@dev2 compile_all=yes done script run from directory .fmb's are in Or you can built the new workstations and compile them on there.
