double quotes in query
Hi I get the last query executed using the ora_sql_txt (sql_text) function for some auditing. Now on some server I get the last query as select columnname from "schemaname"."tablename"; i.e I get double quotes as extra. while on some I get without double quotes select columnname from schemaname.tablename; Is there some setting in oracle for this. I am using oracle 10g Sapan
I don't think there is any such setting in Oracle. Its just the way the queries are executed by end user (application/tool that they are using).
but when I try executing the query as select something from "schema_name"."tablename"; it gives table not exists errror but select something from schema_name.tablename; returns query as select something from "schema_name"."tablename"; using the function
When included in double quotes, the object names have to be used in the same case in which they were created. F. ex. table TEST created as "Test" cannot be accessed as "test" or "TEST" and so on. It must be accessed as "Test" only.
Thanks satish I got the point
